ONE OF THE FINEST actors in Great Britain, Patrick Malahide
         has created characters as diverse as the embittered and scholarly
         Reverend Casaubon in Middlemarch; the dashing and aristocratic
         Inspector Roderick Alleyn in Ngaio Marsh's Alleyn Mysteries; the three
         related but distinct characterizations of the antagonist in Dennis Potter's
         exploration of the mind, The Singing Detective; the rakish Mr. Jingle
         in The Pickwick Papers; and the classic plodding Detective Chisholm
           in the smash hit Minder. Perhaps less well known to an international
         audience is Malahide's extensive 30-year stage career as both actor and
         director. In addition to his many leading roles in television and film,
         he has appeared in over 65 plays by such playwrights as Shakespeare,
         Pinter, Strindberg, and Chekhov. Two one-man shows - Judgement
           and the world premiere of  In the Ruins - drew unanimous critical
         acclaim.

         vocal range and mastery of accents, suggests underlying depth and
